The duo of Michael Herz and Graeme Fidler of Aquascutum have quietly been garnerning quite a following in the past couple of seasons. With a history of producing quality, weatherproof raincoats, this label has been undergoing a renaissance, of sorts, at the the hands of these two. Their last collection included some of the most gorgeous bouclé coats and empire dresses shown in London.

This season, the volume of yesterday has been streamlined, but the exquisite detail has not been lost. There were beautiful, soft dresses with refined beading highlighting the dĂ©colletage, and a standout, if slightly frivolous, metallic pewter-blue trench. The overall look was decidedly paired down and minimal, but rescued from boring via delicate, flowing sleeves and “please-touch-me” fabrics. They punched up a palette of neutrals with burnt orange, a vibrant red, and teal. Despite a few mishaps with some questionable prints and overbearing, Native-looking beaded boards hanging from the neck, these looks would make any girl feel comfortable, yet always outright chic – classic clothing with delicious details. A few more collections and you may be saying “Burberry, who”?
