Wow. I had to post Dior’s S.S 2007 collectionn, because while i usually find Dior a mish-mash of tacky, overly styled pieces that people immediately dool over, I found this collection impeccable. From the draped, Roman-Greco style strapless dresses to the armour-like shoulder pads of the suit jackets, this collection was a return to basics.

For daywear, there was a good selection of skirt suits, finished with slits at the elbows and a panel of embroidery across the front – no pockets, no overdone buttons – just simple and pure. As for evening, Galliano always sends down a beautiful array of dresses. This time around was no exception, with heavily draped/ruched/pleated gowns with soft embroidery at the waist and the hips. The shocking, yet remarkably simple hair and styling worked perfectly against the washed out palette of beige, olive green, champagne, pink, and black. On top of it all, the platform shoes looked liked something out of a futuristic-war-scene-meets-19thcentury-dungeon and let me tell you, no one has ever made that look this good.
This collection was so un-Galliano, and I loved every minute of it.
