Call her just a famous name, but I think I will always have a special place in my heart for Ms. McCartney. The pineapple pattern? Check. The cutout rhinestone pant? Loved. The zippered jean? Yup yup.

Besides bits and pieces that looked a rehash of Chloe’s fall ’06 collection, I felt her S/S 2007 collection was very fresh for spring. Yes, there was the ubiquitous bubble hemline, but she did it in shorts (note: not for everyone) and paired it with a long-tailed white shirt. There were some great A-line minidresses covered in studs and a slew of balloon-sleeved tight micro-minis that spoke to this season’s return to 80′s sex. I would caution against the bloomer-like swimming bottoms, as well as the accompanying voluminous tops, though I must admit that the bright palette of green and blue offered them a summertime charm.
For the working woman, suit jackets came long and waistbands came up, a silhouette that recalled the 70′s/80′s. But then again, aren’t all Stella collections inspired, at least to some degree, by the 70′s and 80′s? Overall, another cute offering from Ms. McCartney, but ultimately leaving me wanting more from her.
