On Tuesday, Canadian Fashion God Arthur Mendoca presented his S/S 2007 collection at MUZIK. The collection was part-Grecian-meets-part-Urban-Safari and offered an array of pieces that were stunning in a New-York-wearable-sort-of-way. Nothing as forward as a Balenciaga show, but tons of wearable shifts with draw string waists, Grecian goddess gowns belted at the waist and cut-out at the back, and impeccably detailed jackets that recalled YSL’s safari look. Working in mostly whites and creams, he spruced it up with some rich browns and pea greens. This collection was for the modern, city woman looking for a bit of exotic escapism.
Frankly, who doesn’t want that?
