What to Wear Now: School Part 2

Now that the weather is changing and the chill factor is getting higher, its time to bring out those sweaters and knits. I give Marc Jacobs a lot of flack, but let us all take a moment and thank him for making warm look cool again. Throw on a cozy, cowl neck sweater (www.shopbop.com) and layer it with a brown top from Old Navy beneath. Resist from doing the all-over layering shown on the runways and make it school-approproate with a pair of dark (key word: dark – no wiskering or contrasting fading) skinnies from TopShop and a great pair of Aldo (www.aldoshoes.com) low ankle boots (hey, 2.5 inches is low, dammit!) with some thick, cable knit socks peaking from underneath. (PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Do not take that as a go-ahead to break out the full-on legwarmers!) Lastly, listen to your mom and throw on a chic beret (www.berets.com) that gives off a French vibe – who says you can’t have a little “je ne sais quoi” in the Canadian suburbs?
