Now before you jump all over me, I know it helps that your mother is current muse of fashion and editor of French Vogue, Carine Roitfed. I mean, who else casually breaks bread with Proenza Schouler? Or randomly happens to sit beside The Daily Telegraph’s Hilary Alexander at fashion week? Or sports the new YSL shoes even before they even show on the catwalk? Okay, so this girl is different.
But Paris Hilton and Bee Shaffer teach us two very important things, respectively. One, money doesn’t by style, class, or even good hair. Secondly, having a fashion editor as a mother doesn’t automatically grant you a Fashion Icon certificate.
At 25, her style is much like her mothers, but softened with a pretty pattern or a ruffle or two. Think short floral Gucci or a studded leather cummerbund-come-bustier paired with carefree, cascading hair. She is slick, yet always approachable, and in the ferocious world of fashion, this may be her greatest accomplishment of all.
