I’ve written about it before, but this year, everyone and their grandmother seemed to hallucinate themselves into thinking they were being shot for the pages of Vogue. This slouched, hands-on-hip pose trend can be attributed to shows like America’s Next Top Model, albeit these girls both have the physical proportions and purpose to commit to such a decaying look – err, not always I suppose.
Next is the pigeon-toed foot. Yes, the pigeon-toed stance was a straight up trend in 2006, sported on everyone from Scarlett Johansson, Nicole Richie, to every hipster you’ve ever seen. While the prevalence of the inward stance is highly debated in Japan – theories range from traditional Japanese poses to the quest for a larger derriere – it’s rise outside of Japan can be largely reduced to one word: cute. Stylist Colleen Abrie says, “It’s a dumb blonde, little girl thing, like Renee Zellweger in Chicago, which fit the part.” Though, I think intended emaciation will also work.
The last look is the It-bag in one hand, pack of Marlboro in other. Yes, everyone from Mary Kate Olsen to Lindsay Lohan was spotted with this pose in 2006. Now would you call this Fashion Slave chic or Lung Cancer chic? Maybe Fashion-Slave-meets-Lung-cancer chic?

pigeon-toed foot, lung,cancer chiq !!? whuahahahahaha hilarious
