Runway Rundown

Louis Vuitton Pre Fall 2007

Modeled by Bette Frank, Marc showed a collection that looked like a close cousin to his grunge collections of late. Far from the spring offering for his namesake like, these clothes were layered and un-glamourously romantic. The standout were the skirts, which came ruched, pleated, gathered and bunched, suggesting an alluring rural ballerina quality. This penchant for rolling fields was carried through to equestrian boots, wooly tights, and tweed jackets. For evening, there was a stunning pleated and ruched layered dress and a Oscar De La Renta-esque cocktail dress with full skirt.

As much as it was beautiful, it wasn’t anything new. Which, even considering this is a “resort” collection, is quite surprising from Marc.
