Mikimoto has commissioned Japanese fashion designer Yojhi Yamamoto to create a collection for the brand. Such collaborations often require journalistic magic to bridge the gap between brand and designer, although this is not one of those instances. The pearl, the Mikimoto symbol, suggests an understated elegance synonymous with Yamamato’s cultivated body of work.
