It was reported that actress Amanda Bynes is the latest celeb to opt for her own line. In collaboration with Steve and Barrys, she will release a line called Dear, which will include “120 pieces of clothing, 28 accessory styles (bags, shoes, belts, cold-weather items), and 70 pieces of jewelry.” A collection of poorly designed clothes fabricated from poor quality fabrics (trust me, I’m not even willing to hedge the risk of that statement with a forced disclaimer) left me yearning for the heady days of Stella’s H & M line (at least that fulfilled one of the two requirements). That said, it doesn’t seem like Bynes is preaching a runway-friendly collection. Perhaps in its decidedly unambitious nature, this will be the one celeb line to actually deliver on its promises.
Donatella Versace celebrated the US. Launch of the house’s signature fragrance with a party at the Versace store on 5th Ave. The scent is built with “black currant, purple wisteria, white lilacs, guava, a heart of Angel Wing jasmine, lotus flowers, and azaleas, and a drydown of cedar, Kasmir wood, musk, and vetiver.” The idea of a Versace scent has always intrgied me. I thought rubbing oneself in $100 bills, Courvoisier, and photos of Kanye West would be enough to aromatically imitate the Rich.Sexy.Rich. mantra of the house. Sorry friends, no Kanye in this scent.
