Gap Inc. has just named named ex-Paco Rabanne designer Patrick Robinson as executive vice president of design for Gap Adult and gapbody in North America. His tenure at Rabanne barely made waves, so I’m wondering whether he has the shock-and-awe tactics to turn the GAP around and lure customers back. I know, shock-and-awe and the Gap is almost an oxymoron. It’s all relative, I say.

Here are the new shots of Scarlett Johansson in Louis Vuitton’s fall-winter advertising campaign. Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus, the ads show Johannson sultry and bare. Girls, believe it or not, expect your boyfriends to be talking about these ads. I see it now: Lous Vuitton Brings Couples Together. How superficially romantic.

Not the ultimate news but actually quite unexpected. At least I wasn’t expecting this from Gap.
I have to say I prefer Vuitton’s Spring ads. And I can’t like Scarlett’s new hair colour. I just can’t, it’s too much. These new ads have, undoubtedly, this chic element added to them, with all the velvets and satins. But why empty sets? Time to get back to minimalism? I don’t think so.
i could definitely see why gap would choose patrick robinson. his collection has been quite successful at target. if people know he’s taking over at gap it’ll help draw fans of the go collection to gap.
those beautiful images remind me of Tamara De Lempicka’s paintings…
