Edinburgh has a tendenacy to be quite tourist-y and I’m tired of seeing orthopedic shoes and pleated capri pants. Start with a simple dress (www.topshop.com) and make it smart with a pair of pointy brogues (www.office.co.uk). I wear the men’s version and these are sight-seeing-friendly. A plastic-looking Kate Spade bag adds sport to the studious ensemble. Plane ticket not included.
