Thandie Newton goes graphic in black and white at the BAFTA Awards. It feels like 80s Valentino and I don’t think that was the intention. An appearence at his echibition in Rome would a been a much mroe germane homage, I say.
Mom-to-be Cate Blanchett at ‘Elizabeth: The Golden Age’ premiere in Sydney, Australia wearing what looks to be Jil Sander Spring 2008. Sheer and colourful seems to be the answer for pregnant celebs. Unfortunately, Jennifer Lopez does it via Cavalli.

I do not like the Cate Blanchett dress, the combination colours, she looks horrible!
thandie has her moments but both always dress in this self-conscious ‘look at me i’m so edgy and avant-garde’ way that seems so fake. same with nicole kidamn. she looks so uptight and DONE even in Yves Saint Laurent and sandals. they all dress in a way that’s lady-like with ‘edge’ but thought out and overly-stylised. fashion for the sake of being avant-garde or supposed individuality is so juvenile and a total bore. wear something because it suits you; not because it sets you apart from everybody else.
