Joining the ranks of model/athlete couples a la Gisele and Tom Brady, Olympic superstar Michael Phelps, has won a grand total of seven gold medals thus far in this year’s events in Beijing… and is now rumored to be dating fashion world favorite, Lily Donaldson.
Before the 2004 Olympics, Phelps told reporters, “I haven’t got a girlfriend and I can’t do the kind of things all my friends are doing as college students… I swim, listen to hip hop and work on my car. But, in my opinion, that’s still a pretty good life. I don’t know whether I’d want to trade it for anything.”
Despite being linked to fellow Olympic teammate Amanda Beard, Phelps is said to be seeing Donaldson, who are both represented by modeling agency powerhouse, IMG – they reportedly met while at a shoot. Lily is currently ranked as the number eight model in the world, and best known as the face of Burberry. Beard also has some modeling under her belt… she posed for PETA in an anti-fur campaign, and has also posed for Playboy.
