There are certain trendy pieces each season that are the visual equivalent of nails on a chalkboard to me, and the Louis Vuitton rabbit ears we’ve seen smattered all over Madonna and Russian Vogue are onesuch item. Back in June we were treated to the ears on Natalia’s cover (Below Left) and inside (Below Right), while my more recent cringe came courtesy of Freja’s September edit (Bottom).

Cheeky Donnie Darko reference or no, I hate when something shoved down consumers’ throats is implied to be quirky and unique. If you’re going to be flamboyant, do it before a look is runway-tested and tiled with logos! I was liking the September photos of Freja until, like a blinking marquee blemishing a rustic landscape, the ears appeared, degrading Katie Grand’s smart styling.
Do you agree? Or does anyone want to argue that these stupid ears are an avant garde museum piece?

Until a celebrity other than Madonna walks around in LV bunny ears, I won’t be annoyed.
lol i dont think i will be sporting this look anytime soon-seriously do people wear things like this?
I kinda like it! Quirky!
hmm yeah, i’m not sure whether i like these or not. they look a bit silly.
I’m torn. I actually quite like them on the cover of Russian Vogue, where they kind of look like silky pink horns. But on Freja – no thank you.
I agree… Donnie Darko great, big weird bunny ears, not so!
