It seems like it was just yesterday that Lanvin did an amazing ad campaign with one of my least favourite models, Jamie Bochert. But give the girl (and the brand) some credit, the campaign was stunning and showed off everything I love about the French label. The campaign had movement and sparked the imagination… I am still dreaming about those ruffled dresses.
But then you have their Fall/Winter 2010 ad campaign staring Anja Rubik, Magdalena Frackowiak, and Mariacarla Boscono. The dark eye make up (which takes the shadow all the way up to their eye brows) and the translucent skin steals so much of the attention away from the beautiful clothes. Not to mention the girls look like bobble heads on a maniquin. Perhaps it was the way Steven Meisel wanted it when he photographed the campaign. But we’re not liking it. You?
