Celebrity style: When the stars are sans stylist and red carpet…
I personally don’t find any celebrities style inspirational (I’m just saying, in case I ever get asked that question). So I find it very reassuring when you see pictures of celebrities on their day off looking like they got dressed in the dark. Here’s three recent examples:
January Jones doesn’t look much like her Grace Kelly-esque character from Mad Men. Instead she looks like a regular woman who woke up and grab the first thing she saw lying on her floor. Unfortunately that included a cable knit sweater, leggings (which are not pants) and flip flops. Isn’t it summer in LA right now? What is with the cable knit sweater? Also can someone run a comb through her hair?
Meanwhile Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester is spending her summer is Paris and is looking more British-festival-season-hipster than a chic girl in Paris. The short-shorts don’t do her legs any justice when paired with those very 2007-style gladiator sandals. Does she think she’s Alexa Chung or even Rachel Bilson with that hair and those glasses? Zzzzzz. She’s trying a non-Blair Waldorf look I guess. She still has a few years to mould into a style that works for her.
Diane Kruger… what can I say? The girl has the proverbial key to the fashion house of Chanel, but sometimes a big old question mark hangs above her head. Take this get up for example… she’s dressed like a little girl lost. It’s a great look that maybe someone 10 years younger could pull off, but it just looks awkward on Diane. She knew that oxford’s were stylish, as are floral skirts. But what is with that 10-year-old’s grey sweater?

Diane Kruger looks like she really could lose that sweater, and I wish Leighton always looked like Blair.
