Call me aesthetically oversensitive, but I have never been able to understand those who see clothing in a purely utilitarian light. Will I leave the house uncomfortable? No. Are minimalist Rag & Bone stretch jeans as comfortable as stretched out, stained leggings? Um, also yes. So why would you choose to look boring (or like a slob) for the sake of “comfort”? Baffling.
I’ve been personally inspired by Gothic Lolita style for a couple of years now, not only for the uniqueness of the look, but for the commitment of the girls who wear it on a daily basis. That said, for those who lack the dedication but like to throw in some wardrobe curveballs, I can’t get enough of these wearable-yet-wild pieces by designer Alice Auaa (Below).

I MEANNNN a backless, uber-puffed Edwardian-inspired tangled lace top (Top)? Definitely feeling this with a high-necked blouse, or (for the right occasion, like a blood rave) with nothing underneath and a high-waisted riding pant. The skirt and dress are slightly easier options; either way, the whole look doesn’t have to go Lolita for it to work. The photography on the site is pretty rough (a universally contrasting background would also be nice) but some of the detail shots point to careful craftsmanship.
Want.

this is a great inspiration for my future shoots but designer is overseas. any USA distributor?
