Rihanna x River Island
It was only a matter of time until Rihanna joined the ranks of her fellow pop-stars and “designed” her own line. The collection, which is a joint effort between herself and River Island will be released online and in-store on March 5th. The line will make it’s official debut however on Feb.16th during a presentation amidst London Fashion Week.
The singer was quoted as saying “Launching at London Fashion Week is a dream come true for me.” “I have wanted to design my own collection for a long time and to present my collection for River Island alongside all of the other great design talent at LFW is a real privilege. I can’t wait to see the reaction from my fans and the fashion press.”

Galliano’s Back…Kind Of
After two years of fashion exile, Galliano is transitioning back into the industry. Oscar de la Renta has announced that he is opening the doors of his studio to his good friend for three weeks of work. Neither have announced what exactly Galliano will be doing, but this show of good faith will certainly help him professionally.
This is the first career move for Galliano since anti-Semitic outburst in Paris two years ago that lead to him being removed from Dior.

Simons x Adidas
Adidas has partnered with the unlikely Raf Simons to collaborate on a limited edition range of footwear. The five styles offered in three different colour stories were debuted yesterday in Simon’s menswear show in Paris.
According to the press release, the “the all-black [styles] use multicolored silicone bubbles in rose, green, blue, or burgundy accentuating the shape of the shoe by creating visual depths.”
You’ll be able to get your hands on these kicks sometime in July.

Ford Closes It’s Canadian Doors
The Toronto location of Ford Models has decided to officially close it’s doors. the decision, which stems from head office comes with sadness and shock to many in the industry. This is perceived as a great loss to the Toronto fashion industry, which benefited from the reputable agencies contributions to the Canadian Market
Ford had 250 models on their Toronto roster, most of whom will now be available to other agencies.

Kate Young x Target
The hot stylist and Natalie Portman’s go-to girl, Kate Young will be designing a capsule collection for Target due to launch on April 14th. The stylist who has consulted for such brands as Ann Taylor and Jason Wu has gained plenty of experience in finding what clicks in the retail market. Because Young remains relatively unknown to the everyman, the line will be inexpensive with prices ranging from $29.99 to $89.99 for apparel and $14.99 to $49.99 for jewelry, handbags, and shoes.
