Several months ago Lindsey Wixson dropped off the board at Marilyn Agency. Shortly after established models all over New York began disappearing and rumors of a new agency began to swirl. During fashion week, this mysterious agency was whispered about and called “The Secret Agency”. Enter the Society Model Management, an extension of Elite Paris (not to be confused with Elite New York). The agency officially launched on Wednesday and is poised to challenge the current big 3 in the industry: DNA, Women, and IMG.
Logo Fatigue Has Struck
When guests at Louis Vuitton’s F/W ’13 show sat down to watch a svelte Kate Moss shuffle down the catwalk, they were greeted with show notes for each guest. In the notes, Marc Jacobs, creative director for the house wrote: “The house’s Monogram and Damier canvas are nowhere to be seen on the catwalk”. This comes as a surprise from a luxury brand who has made its fame by plastering the logo on all its accessories. This noticeable shift is due to the Asian market’s shift from conspicuous to inconspicuous luxury. Asia accounts for 28% of the brand’s revenue.

Yano Research Institute has reported that Japan’s jewelry sales rose to ¥911 billion last year. An increase of 1.8%. Many insiders credit the increased sales to 2011’s tsunami. The natural disaster caused people to prioritize their loved ones and engagement and wedding rings
Keira Knightley to Star in Coco Chanel Short
As Chanel celebrates 100 years, the house plans to roll out a short film directed by Karl Lagerfeld. The film will star Keira Knightley as Coco Chanel alongside Stella Tennant, Tallulah Harlech and Brad Kroenigand. It will feature a realistic set and classic designs and premiere will be during Chanel’s Cruise collection in May. Knightley is the current face of the brand’s Madmoiselle perfume.

Dylan’s Candy Bar Teams Up with Le Sportsac
Dylan’s Candy Bar (owned and operated by Ralph Lauren’s daughter) has teamed up with Le Sportsac to create candy themed accessories. The items will range from $18 to $188 and will launch in August and again in November. They will available at Le Sportsac as well as Dylan’s Candy Bar stores.
