You know you’re famous when you can barely hold a pencil, but Stella McCartney, Sadie Frost, and Jefferson Hack (okay, it is her dad”’) are all attendees at your birthday. This is the life of Kate Moss’ daughter, Lila Grace, who turned four on September 29th. While I hope the best for her, I would not be at all surprised if she enters the rebellion phase that seems to plague the children of all celebrities. But, thinking about it, when you’re the daughter of Kate Moss, what would be considered rebellion – a vow of chastity and becoming president of the Chess Club?

Miss Moss looks her usual black-engrossed self in high boots, leggings, and a voluminous shrug. The pregnant Stella McCartney also wore leggings (grey), but paired them wore a grey/navy striped dress and high boots. Meanwhile, Jude Law’s ex, Sadie Frost, opted for the cut-off leggings + flats combo – a look much more suited to Lila’s age group than her own. All in all, I think the Birthday Girl herself, Miss Lila, had the most originality at the party. Who would’ve thought?

What do you get when you combine three of Hollywood’s most trash-tackular celebrities with an orange-skinned-pseudo-stylist? The opening of Ken Paves new hair salon in Beverly Hills! Besides being a Mecca for trend-killing B-listers and possessing the largest collection of peroxide known to man, I can now sleep better knowing where virgin hair from India and Russia comes to die.
As if wearing a cocooned-sleeved sack mini-dress with platform shoes wouldn’t incite enough ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ as it is, this season, it has all been snowed on by a sea of shiny metallics and shimmery fabrics – Think the end of every Mariah Carey performance translated into clothes. From New York at Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler to London at Gareth Pugh and finally to Milan at Burberry and Jil Sander, designers have offered up a nice contrast to those looking for something slightly louder than a beige cotton tent dress or khaki shorts.

I don’t know if this trend is as a result of designers simply being hit by the shine-bug or finally realizing that those compact make-up case mirrors that you girls use are useless to see anything but half an eye and a nose bridge, but get ready to see more. I have ranted previously about my detest for this never-ending trend, but now my reservations have risen to what George W would call “Level Orange Status”. Note: I have purposely avoided “Level Red” – that’s, of course, when this trends hits cheap stretch fabric and $0.0003 sequins. Enjoy!

Diane Kruger is somewhat of a fashion rebel – a German-born actress, who, at the age of 15, was a finalist of Elite’s “Look of the Year”, has never followed safety first. Taking one glimpse at her film history will serve to highlight this – from playing Helen in the blockbuster Troy to Lisa in the long-forgotten Wicker Park to Anna Holtz in this fall’s Copying Beethoven, this is a woman who revels in switching it up.
The same sensibility applies to her fashion sense – sculptural, minimal Balenciaga one day, romantic, heavily beaded Prada the next, all with an indefinable sense of ease. For me, Kruger, a devoted fan of Balenciaga and its designer, is a true fashion chameleon. That said, she has had her share of fashion mishaps in the past. But, when you wear Balenciaga this frggin’ well, I can have nothing but praise …
